After 88 days, Jorge Martin made his MotoGP return by testing Aprilia’s RS-GP bike at Misano in a double test session. This marked his first MotoGP track action since his pneumothorax and rib fractures at the Qatar GP in April, following which he missed 10 races and has only participated in one race this season.
Martin expressed his happiness at being able to ride a MotoGP bike again after his injuries, stating that being back on the track meant more to him than anything else. His test at Misano focused on reuniting him with the MotoGP bike after months of inactivity and adjusting his riding posture, with positive feedback from both Martin and Aprilia.
Despite a successful test, Martin and Aprilia decided that he will return to racing in the Czech GP next week in Brno after MotoGP’s medical director cleared him for testing but not for the German GP due to the nature of the circuit not being ideal for his return from injury.
